Students studying Podiatry, Dental Nursing and English degrees at the University of Northampton are the most positive out of all universities in England, according to the latest National Student Survey (NSS).
The NSS gathers final year students’ opinions on the quality of their courses across the country. It is one of the largest surveys of its kind in the world.
For 2025 students were asked 27 questions covering themes including ‘teaching on my course’; ‘learning opportunities’; ‘academic support’; ‘organisation and management’; ‘learning resources’; and ‘student voice’. Over 72% of UON’s eligible on-campus students completed the survey, which shows a higher response rate than in previous years (2023-2024).
The undergraduate degrees at the University of Northampton which ranked top across all universities in England (based on overall positivity score averaged across all 27 questions) were Podiatry (91%), Dental Nursing (98%), and English (97%), with Drama (93%) and Sport and Exercise Science (94%) rated in the top three.
Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Experience, Alice Wilby said: “We’re incredibly pleased that our students have been so positive about their experiences at UON. This is testament to the hard work of our colleagues across the university who teach and support our students.
“While there is still plenty of positive work taking place to continue striving for improvement and progression, this feedback is very encouraging for us in a survey where the only opinion that matters – that of our students – is captured.”
