Clinical Practice PGDip and PGCert Welcome Pack

Welcome to PGDip and PGCert Clinical Practice 2025.

Welcome to the post graduate clinical practice awards. These aim to develop and equip healthcare professionals with the key skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to independently manage defined episodes of clinical care whilst demonstrating expertise within their scope of practice. Linked to the clinical pillar of advanced practice and informed by the multi-professional framework, the PgCert course and the first year of the PgDip aims to improve patient health outcomes. Learners will benefit from learning with specialists from a range of healthcare settings whilst ensuring patient safety and ethical practice. Year two of the PgDip further develops the education and leadership pillars of advanced practice and aims to enhance service delivery.

Both courses support healthcare registrants to advance their practice, working towards a future advanced practice career. The awards are both eligible for APCL (credit transfer) into our advanced clinical practice masters’ awards.

Assessment strategies in this programme are varied, offering students the opportunity through critical reflection to review learning and development in relation to advancing their practice.
