Dental Nursing FdSc Welcome Pack

Welcome to FdSc Dental Nursing 2025.

Dental nurses work as key members of the dental team, supporting patients in a variety of settings to promote oral health and deliver safe, high-quality care. Our Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Dental Nursing equips you with the knowledge, practical skills and professional values required for work in a range of dental placements.

Throughout your course, the core principles of safe practice and patient-centred care are emphasised. Teaching and learning are designed to support your understanding of the legal, ethical and professional standards set out in the General Dental Council (GDC) Safe Practitioner Framework (2025). Our experienced academic team — all registered Dental Care Professionals who have a wealth of practical experience — will support you with a blend of lectures, practical sessions, simulated exercises and assessments to prepare you for real-world dental environments.

By the end of this two-year programme, you will have demonstrated the skills and competencies required for registration with the GDC as a Dental Nurse and be able to practice safely, professionally and ethically in dental teams across a diverse range of dental care settings.
