Our Paramedic Science, Podiatry, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy degrees equip you with the knowledge and skills that you will require for professional practice by combining theoretical study with hands-on learning in the University’s specialist labs and practical settings across public, private and independent sectors.

    Public & Professional Healthcare Degree Information


    • Our range of compulsory modules will provide public & professional healthcare graduates with a good foundation in preparation for their career within the healthcare sector.

      Our BSc Occupational Therapy degree provides you with the knowledge and skills required through hands-on learning in a practical setting.

      Our BSc Paramedic Science course curriculum ensures that you are able to develop both academically and practically with practical placements in a range of hospital settings.

      Our BSc Podiatry degree provides students with the opportunity to develop skills through clinical and academic study, benefitting from placements at our Podiatry clinic which is located adjacent to Northampton General Hospital.

    • Students partaking in our healthcare courses, are asked to meet our standard entry requirements for the individual courses. In regards to our procedure, we also ask that applicants read further about requirements, as they may vary between each course.

      Please note, students choosing to study our BSc Paramedic Science course must have a driving licence prior to starting the course.

    • Your journey doesn’t end once you have completed your healthcare course at the University of Northampton. To help you face the challenges of finding the right employment in your preferred sector after university, we have introduced the University of Northampton Employment Promise.

      After successfully completing your healthcare studies, you can secure the opportunity to participate in a three-six month paid internship or additional support for your postgraduate study.     • Do you need a degree to be a Paramedic?

      Yes, to become a qualified paramedic within the Uk you must have completed an approved degree such as our BSc Paramedic Science course. Once you have completed your degree you’ll be able to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

      How long is Physiotherapy Course?

      Our Undergraduate Physiotherapy degree can be completed in 3 years. If you chose to study our MSc (pre-registration) Physiotherapy degree, the duration of this course is 2 years of full time study.

      What is Occupational Therapy Course?

      Our Occupational Therapy BSc course teaches students how to enhance the health and well-being of individuals to enable people of all ages to overcome everyday challenges resulting from illness, trauma and age.
